The Z-Man Scholarship Foundation is holding its First Annual Benefit Auction & Dinner at the Oregon Convention Center on Saturday May 22, 2010.The auction will attract 350-400 guests from Portland’s local business organizations, community leaders, and the Portland Police Bureau. The auction will be an annual fundraiser for the Foundation and all proceeds from the event will go towards funding Z-Man scholarships for local youth. Officer Mark Zylawy, known affectionately as Z-Man, had a truly transforming presence. The Z-Man Scholarship was established in remembrance of a community hero to open doors of opportunity to the youth of Portland, the community and people Z-Man loved. The scholarship strives to inspire the young people of Portland to be better every day and to give back to their community—in the spirit of Officer Zylawy.
